Thai is written without spaces. Any romanization has to decide where the word
boundaries are before it can insert them, and that decision needs a dictionary. Our converter
does a greedy longest match against course vocabulary, which is good on course words and honest
about the rest. Nothing that runs in a browser does better without shipping a language
model.

Tone marks are the first thing lost when text is retyped, pasted into a form,
or read aloud by someone who does not know what the little hooks mean. The Thai spelling
carries the tone in the letters themselves, so it cannot be stripped by
accident.
四个规则,使这停止减慢你的速度
1. 选择一个方案,并留在它
Not because it is best, but because switching between schemes is what actually
causes the confusion. Your brain is trying to learn a spelling-to-sound mapping and you keep
changing the mapping.
2. 将罗马化作为提示,永远不要作为拼写
It is a pronunciation note someone wrote next to the real word. Do not try to
memorise it. Nobody in Thailand will ever read it.
3. 总是把音频在字母
Every Thai word on this site has a play button for exactly this reason. If the
recording and your reading of the romanization disagree, the recording wins.
4. 比感觉合理的更早开始阅读剧本
Thai spelling encodes the tone. Romanization does not encode it reliably.
Learning to read is the only permanent fix, and it takes about two weeks of ten minutes a
day.
