A passion project with room to grow
Sabai Thai started as Robin’s passion project. As the app grows, so do the costs of running it and creating new content. The hope is to cover those costs and make living in Thailand possible while building a useful place to learn Thai.
What free covers
38 free starter lessons across 6 chapters, covering Act 1 of each, plus two checkpoints. After that, unlock one new lesson free each day. Replay and practise unlocked lessons whenever you like. Read the access details.
What the optional tier is for
Unlimited lesson progression, AI coach practice within your allowance, Smart Review and included cosmetics. See what Pro costs.
Android first
The app is Android only and is free on Google Play. There is no iOS version and none is promised.
Accounts created before the access update keep permanent unrestricted free lesson access across all acts. The new daily limits do not apply to those accounts.
How the course was built
One language. One course. Built in the order a person actually needs it in Thailand, which means you are ordering food several chapters before the past tense turns up. That is not an oversight. That is the order the need arrives in.
Every word has audio, and it is a bundled file rather than your phone spelling things out. In Thai that gap is huge: a phone's built-in reader irons the tones flat, and the tone is part of the word. The clips are made with high-quality Thai speech synthesis and checked before they ship, which is how every one of the words got one instead of just the sample sentences. A handful of terms are still waiting on a clip. Those are the ones with no play button, and we would rather you knew than wondered.
Everything you can read here is the course itself. Free, no account, no email first. The app adds the practice: it listens to you speak, points at the word that missed, and keeps handing back the ones you cannot hold on to.
AI disclosure
Course audio, the companion artwork and some written material are produced with AI assistance, and are reviewed before shipping. This notice is here to satisfy Article 50 of the EU AI Act and is repeated in the app and in the privacy policy.
